Busy little elf!

Ti's the Season!
If this doesn't say it all. I have one word for my days activity "BUSY"! I have been working like crazy filling orders and creating for the Holiday season. I haven't had much spare time, not even to blog. I wanted to check in and say HELLO to everyone. I have managed to step out to get some of the holiday shopping done and enjoy all of the holiday craziness. I actually love all of the people and the Christmas decorations. I can't believe it though, I actually seen bathing suits out the other day! I am not ready for summer yet, we haven't even gotten through the holidays.

Well, for me it is one thing at a time. Here is some of my recent works of art and things I have recently shipped out.

ENJOY!

I hope you all have a great day and remember smiles are contagious so spread one today! :o)

Checking the Christmas list!

Not once, but twice!

It really doesn't matter how many times you check the list, if your looking for one of these little guys you'll be looking well past the holiday season! I am actually ashamed to say I didn't know anything about these crazy little hamsters, until my mom had filled me in on them. How did I miss this one? After all I do have a nine year old! Unfortunately, these little guys will not be under our tree this year! Everywhere you go the shelves are empty, and "well" forget getting one online the prices are astronomical. This cute little toy retails for under $10 and are now going for $60 on the secondary-market sites like Amazon and Ebay. If this does not bring back memories of the old "Cabbage Patch Kids". Ok, now I am just dating myself. I remember wanting one of those crazy dolls so bad and there were several christmas' in a row that they were un-touchable.

As soon as I started looking into these Zhu Zhu pets, I myself couldn't help falling in love with them. With names like Mr. Squiggles, Pipsqueak and Num Nums they scoot and coo like real pets. The kids can add accessories like a car, skateboard and a wheel to their own little hamster world.

We can only hope that Santa will be ever so gracious to slide one under our tree. "Hey", grown ups can wish too can't they!

"Gobble-Gobble"!

Happy Thanksgiving!

(image via flickr)

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and enjoy time with your loved ones!

This year is especially hard for me from the loss of my beloved aunt who was only 5 years older than myself, that made her more like a sister. She will be missed dearly and our family will not feel complete. I have comfort knowing that she is not in pain or suffering and I know that the Lord above is caring for her and has better plans for her future.

Know one can ever stress the importance of living, laughing and loving the people you care most about until you don't have the chance to anymore.

So, my wish for you is LIVE, LAUGH and LOVE and cherish the moments you have with all those crazy family members and your close, close loved ones!

Thankful!

It being the week of Thanksgiving I figure it only makes sense to shed some light on the things I am most thankful for.

On a day to day basis although sometimes exhausted from all our trials and tribulations of life, I am thankful for the Lord above who has made my being possible and given me the strength and courage to tackle everyday with a new perspective and appreciation for one more chance to get it right.

I am most thankful for the beautiful family he has blessed me with! My husband who I admire dearly for his strength, drive and determination to provide for our family and for his love which he gives abundantly and with no boundaries. The constant role he plays as a husband has been through the eyes of the Lord and everyday the Lord lives in him. His kind, loving heart and good soul never goes un-noticed.

I am thankful for our beautiful daughter who has been a bright beam of light since the day she was born. The Lord blessed us with her health, loving spirit and strong will for all things good and true. She is truly beautiful in every way and makes our family complete.

I am thankful for our parents who instilled good morals, lots of love and gave us the tools we needed to become the good loving people we are today. I am thankful to have wonderful family and friends who play a big part in our daily lives and give us the support and encouragement to face anything we may be going through and remind us that we are not alone. The Lord blessed us with each and everyone of them with all their different personalities and ability to give all the different insight from their own upbringing and experiences.

I am thankful for all we have and could ever need which the good Lord has provided. We have food to eat, clean water to drink, clothes on our backs and a warm safe bed to sleep in every night.

I am thankful for our furry friends who love us unconditionally and look at us with no judgement. They are Gods gift to remind us that we can start over each day and not be reminded of our acts from the day before.

I am thankful for the creativity and artistic ability that the Lord has poured into my soul and has given me a chance to use it everyday.

I am thankful for life in general and being here everyday to experience it. I am thankful that I can see all the beauty of the landscape, water, nature, architecture and hear the sounds of my surroundings and music. I am thankful I can touch, feel and see all of the beautiful textiles that I so love to work with.

I am sure that I could go on forever and ever, there are so many things on a daily basis to be thankful for. Things I know that I take fore granted and without a doubt just assume will always be there. One thing I do know for sure, is that without our God there would be nothing. So I would like to say one big THANK YOU LORD for all you have given and all you gave for us to be hear today!

Aloha!

I am pretty sure that anyone that is not here right now will wish they were! My in-laws just got back from a trip to Hawaii and from what I can see from all of the pictures it is just absolutely beautiful. The water just looks beautiful! I live in a state where we are surrounded by great lakes and carp! I know it is still water, but it does not beat the ocean by a long shot!

Hopefully someday I will be able to see some other tropical islands and take some serious vacations!

I hope you have a great weekend and enjoy!

It's NOT very clear!

(image via flickr)
I don't know about you, but I am getting so sick of all this Swine flu (H1N1) controversy. Sometimes they make it so hard to come to a good old fashioned educated decision about our health at hand. I know there are good points on both behalves--to vaccinate or not to vaccinate--but how are you suppose to make a clear decision about what to do when everyday the media keeps adding onto the drama of it all. I think I am going to go with my gut feeling and we will be getting a poke. I just am not sure that I want to take a chance and not try and prevent my little one from getting really sick. It is so crazy all of the things I keep hearing and how can you be sure what you are hearing is true? I mean we are talking about the media and they are not always true to the issues at hand. Recently someone told me that they heard that over two hundred people have died just from getting the vaccination alone. My husband and I both thought, "now really" that is something that that would be all over the news and we have not seen anything on this. But we still feel hesitant to vaccinate because how do we know for sure! There is always the thought of some conspiracy theory and they are just hiding all of bad effects of the vaccine. Really, if this many people have died, unless they are trying to control the population, I can't imagine they would keep giving it. Well going back to my gut and its feeling, I just can't imagine that it is a whole lot different from the regular flu vaccine.

I am interested, Will you be vaccinating?

Introducing!

One of my favorite things to create and give as a gift is a hand painted birth announcement! This is something that the proud parents can display in the baby's room and keep for years to come! When they are done displaying it and want to store it away it can be detached from the wooden frame and rolled up for safe keeping. Here are some of my favorites that I have done recently. Some of these are listed on my other etsy store SummerLynn Designs which is listed on the left side of my blog.

I hope you enjoy and remember these make a great gift!

Have a great Wednesday and keep on smiling!

A space to call my own!

I dream of a day when I have a space to call my own! I am so tight on space to work and I always am shifting things around. I feel so unorganized, everything is just here there and everywhere. To start a project I have to dig and get it all together and by the time I get it all organized I really have lost my drive to complete the project! I have had my own space before and I know how valuable it is for the creative thinking process. So I dream of the day and it can't come soon enough! Until then I will keep on trying to stay organized and shifting things around. No matter what I will keep creating and working toward my dream.

Here are some spaces I wouldn't mind calling my own!

If I could only snap my fingers and say presto!

Have a great day and don't waist it away doing what you don't love!
